The online world is developing at a rapid pace, creating increasingly more detailed 3D worlds that are connected to each other. In this ever-expanding ‘metaverse’, you move around the world via VR glasses – but even as an avatar, you want to look fashionable.
To mark the rise of digital fashion, ISKO™ recently joined forces with the Circular Fashion Summit ‘CFS’ by Lablaco, to create a complete Virtual Reality show. The virtual show was launched at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris, a sustainable exhibition hall on the Champ-de-Mars, bringing together leaders of change in design, technology and sustainability.
Ideas taking flight
Embracing digital fashion is one way we can become a more sustainable industry. It gives us the opportunity to showcase fashion and inspire future trends without creating excessive preview materials. Another benefit of digital fashion shows is that it cuts back on the need to travel, reducing the industry’s carbon footprint by eliminating the dependence on international flights.
At the ISKO™ virtual reality show, guests were guided through the 3D space, discussing ISKO™'s commitment to sustainability, including our goal to eliminate virgin fibres in our fabrics and how we plan to achieve it.
As part of the project, ISKO™ worked with the Institute of Digital Fashion (IoDF) to design incredible VR art, including the ISKO™ VR hero denim jacket, which was worn by many of the attendees at the event.
