WHAT ARE THE IMPACT OF LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENTS?
To ensure the validity and replicability of the LCAs, we created the first Environmental Product Declarations (EPD®) for denim fabrics.

Environmental Product Declarations & Life Cycle Assessments
A Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a globally recognised methodology that evaluates the environmental footprint of a product. It considers impacts across the entire lifecycle – from raw materials to finished products.
In order to fully understand the impacts involved in the textile supply chain, and where we can make improvements, we have obtained LCAs for all our +25,000 denim products, in line with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044.

We have publicly available and independently verified EPDs for all our fabrics, so we can develop more responsibly and track improvements over time.
ISKO’s EPDs measure the environmental impacts of 1m2 of fabric. Ensuring key sustainability KPIs can be tracked, monitored, and reduced. This includes carbon and water footprint impacts.
The EPDs have external input to create validated Product Category Rules (PCR) for denim. These are publicly available for other producers and can be used to improve transparency and allow for fair comparison.
