From the very beginning they wanted to create pieces that combined reworked materials and eclectic cuts: that is how the design duo Ksenia and Anton Schnaider began their fashion journey with the label Ksenia Schnaider, in 2011.
The idea of rethinking pre-loved fabrics came before, when the couple used to scout vintage markets sourcing items that they then would cut, rethink and manufacture with a meticulous, creative cut. Thanks to experimentally reworked denim cuts, Eastern European cultural quotes and innovative digital concepts in mind, the brand was ready to take off.
The designer duo created pieces of sustainable fashion, becoming the only fashion brand from Eastern Europe to advocate for fair fashion, as Ksenia told Forbes. “As a designer, it is important for me to create clothing not only with organic and vintage materials, but also cutting-edge designs. After all, people, especially those coming from the post-Soviet generation, are still not buying something just because it is good for the planet. They want something that they believe is cool and makes them look good”, she explained to the magazine.
Ksenia Schnaider took the fashion world by storm since 2016, when they launched their demi-denim jeans: the pair, combining high waste with broader legs from down the waste to the knees, and skinnier from knees to ankles, became viral among celebrities and influencers. Bella and Gigi Hadid, Dua Lipa, Camila Cabello and Coco Rocha among others have been spotted wearing the brand as well as Instagram stars like Eleonora Carisi and Linda Tol. The demi-denim has not been their only denim hit: the duo never stops experimenting, manufacturing pieces like denim fur coats and the new viral hit asymmetrical jeans, with one skinny leg and the other flared.
The brand has launched a capsule collection made entirely of Earth Fit™ by ISKO, reinforcing once again their commitment to work with materials that are eco-conscious and stylish.
